Freelancers Insurance Company, Inc. (“FIC”) was incorporated in the State of New York on January 28, 2008. FIC was licensed on November 10, 2008, as an accident and health insurer pursuant to Article 42 of the New York Insurance Law and commenced business operations on or about January 1, 2009.

FIC was not authorized to operate in any other state than New York. FIC’s principal office was located at 30 John Street, Brooklyn, New York 11201.

FIC was placed into liquidation and the Superintendent of Financial Services of the State of New York was appointed as liquidator on January 11, 2022, by an order of the Supreme Court of the State of New York.
