Fiduciary Insurance Company of America ("Fiduciary") was incorporated under the laws of the State of New York on or about October 24, 1977 and commenced business on January 1, 1978.
Fiduciary was licensed to transact the business of insurance in accordance with paragraphs (3), (13), (14), and (19) of Section 1113(a) of the New York Insurance Law. Fiduciary's statutory office was located at 45-07 Davis Street, 3rd Floor, Long Island City, New York 11101. Fiduciary was not licensed to conduct the business of insurance in any other state. Effective January 1, 2005, the NYS Insurance Department (a predecessor to NYS Department of Finance) converted Fiduciary’s license to conduct business in the State of New York from that of an accident and health insurance company to that of a property and casualty insurance company.
Fiduciary was placed into liquidation and the Superintendent of Financial Services of the State of New York was appointed as liquidator on July 25, 2017, by order of the Supreme Court of the State of New York.
